Wooden Core Boxes FAQ's1. Why use wood for core boxes?
Wooden core boxes are stronger than the
plastic or cardboard type, so our boxes can tolerate more handling, moving,
and longer storage times. Our boxes are reusable
if the core samples are no longer needed.
Our standard core boxes are designed to be adjustable
for different sizes of core samples. Our boxes are stackable.
2. What is our "Standard" core box?
First off, we are in the business of CUSTOM Core Boxes, but we have
found that a majority of our clients are able to use our "Standard"
configuration with adjustable dividers to accommodate different core sizes.
This box is 4 feet outside length and has a screw down lid of OSB.
This box is normally in stock.
3. What Size Core Will Our Boxes Handle?
We have made wooden core boxes to accommodate 6 inch
core samples, thus the Custom part of our business. Our Standard boxes are
designed with dividers and slots that can be used for 2 inch,
2.5 inch, and 3 inch samples. Other size cores would need to have
boxes custom built to your needs.
4. How Many Feet Of Core Will Fit In One Box?
Our Core Boxes normally handle 20 feet of 2 inch core.
Our boxes can handle 15 feet of 2.5 inch core
and 10 feet of 3 inch core.Your would need several Cardboard or Plastic boxes to hold the same weight. 5. What Variables Are A Consideration?
We pride ourselves in being able to CUSTOM BUILD
wooden core boxes. The most common variable is the LID. How is it fastened?
Will it be SCREWED down? Will it be
HINGED? Will it have a HASP?
Will it need to be LOCKABLE? The answers
to these questions will determine if the lid is OSB or PINE.
6. How Are Boxes Shipped?
Again, we are CUSTOM BUILDERS, so your needs will be addressed. Normally,
we ship pallets of 48 wooden core boxes to a pallet. The Carrier is determined
by your location and needs.
7. What Is The Time Frame For Orders?
For an order of 100 simple boxes, it would be about 1 week.For complicated boxes, it may be 2 or 3 weeks out. It will depend on our work load and your location and needs.
